On the road again... | Circular Copenhagen

It is estimated that 40,000 bicycles are currently collected from private households, the majority of which are recycled as scrap metal - but we are committed to change that.

The Municipality of Copenhagen has started a pilot project where we, in collaboration with designated waste managers, collect around 250 bicycles for reuse. Relevant and interested stakeholders can apply to be a part of the project. If your application is accepted, you will be given a share of the collected bicycles and asked to prepare them to be put back on the road.

The duration of the pilot project is May-June of 2024. Afterwards we will evaluate and review whether the project should be tried again on a larger scale.
