In Denmark, we throw out a lot of mattresses. The exact number is an unknown, but it is probably close to 500,000 mattresses a year. Only the metal springs are recycled - the rest is incinerated.

The City of Copenhagen is looking at several possibilities for increasing the recycling of both existing and new fractions. Mattresses take up a lot of space in our bulky rubbish and at the recycling sites, so now we are investigating how we can handle them better.

During the webinar we will invite the participants to enter into an innovative collaboration that will develop a roadmap to get recycling capacity for mattresses in Denmark. We want to collaborate with other municipalities and regions, companies from the waste sector, knowledge partners and distributors of mattresses.

So come and join, get smarter and take part in an important change in the Danish waste sector!
